HTC is preparing to launch the next flagship smartphone this year. HTC has already launched HTC U Ultra at the beginning of this year but has not received the response that HTC would have expected. We had several rumors that were suggesting that HTC will launch the successor of HTC 10 as HTC U and not the HTC 11. The rumor has been confirmed by the company in a tweet shared on the micro-blogging site announcing the launch date of its next phone
The tweet does not say anything more than the fact that the phone will be named as HTC U and the date of launch will be May 16. According to the video posted with the tweets, the first rumor about HTC U will come with touch sensitive frame with the edge sensor.

On the basis of recent rumors, the Dual-SIM HTC U will be running on Android 7.1, and a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display with the Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The handset will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SOC, which will have 4 GB or 6 GB RAM options. The latest teaser also suggests a fairly thin form factor for HTC U.
The HTC U is suggesting a selfie-focused smartphone with a 16-megapixel IMX351 sensor over at the front and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 sensor at the back. In terms of storage the HTC U will be offered with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage depending on the RAM. The latest leaks rates the battery at 3000mAh with Quick Charge 3.0.
