The BlackBerry KEYone, launched at the Mobile World Congress this year, has finally received the release date for the US and Canadian markets. TCL and Blackberry announced on Thursday that KEYone will go on sale in the US and Canada starting May 31, while the pre-order will start on May 18. The unlocked BlackBerry KEYone will cost $ 549 (about $ 35,300) in the US, while people with career lock will be priced at CAD 199 (about Rs 10,000) in Canada for two years. TCL Communication, the smartphone maker of Blackberry KEYone, had been the one to give all these details, launch date and availability.
The BlackBerry KEYone comes with the signature QWERTY keypad slider below the device, which also embeds a fingerprint sensor on the space-bar as well as capacitive touch on the entire keyboard for scrolling. Talking about the specifications,smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch full-HD (1620×1080 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 433ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The BlackBerry KEYone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, with 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 506 GPU. BlackBerry KEYone sports 32GB of inbuilt storage and it can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.
BlackBerry KEYone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX378 sensor. There is an 8-megapixel front facing camera with a wide-angle lens and a flash module. To power all the hardware, TLC has provisioned the KEYone with a 3305mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quickcharge 3.0 standard over the USB Type-C v.1.0 connector.
The new KEYone’s connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
