With Google maps you can now see New York’s subway lines. It is part of the transit layer so do not forget to turn it on under “more”. Colored lines are interactive

With Google maps you can now see New York’s subway lines. It is part of the transit layer so do not forget to turn it on under “more”.

Colored lines are interactive. When you click on a station name, a bubble pops up with the names of the line that service the station, and all the other lines on the screen fade out.

Google Maps doesn’t only cover NYC but other big cities too such as Paris and Tokyo, and offer transit directions by cooperating with over 436 agencies around the world.

The new subway lines of NYC is also available on Google Maps Mobile.

Looks pretty sleek. However with CoPilot landscape mode isn’t all the efficient for making use of that screen. TomTom does a better job. HTC HD2 is a giant phone by the way…

Vobis Computer just announced a new Android phone with GPS capabilities called Vobis Zeus – or more precisely Vobis Highscreen Zeus. Zeus has a 3.2″ touch screen, qwerty slide out keyboard, 3MP camera with auto focus, A-GPS supported GPS features, 528Mhz processor, microSD card slot, bluetooth, and a 1100mAh Li-Ion battery which should get you about 400 hours of standby time. As far as navigation Vobis Zeus’ navigation service will be called iDA, developed by Intrinsync

TeleNav’s AT&T Navigator, Alk’s CoPilot Live, Navigon’s MobileNavigator, and TomTom’s iPhone app. I know we’ve talked about all these many times here on Navigadget before but maybe you just want to hear it all over again from NYTimes.

…According to a report from the iSuppli research firm, GPS applications for smartphones are about to explode, growing from 2.5 percent of users today to 10.5 percent in 2013. And half of those will be iPhone owners…
