Garmin Edge 500
Garmin Edge 500 is the latest GPS device for cyclists. It can track speed, distance, time, GPS coordinates, elevation, calories burned, climb and descent. For the last part – the climb and descent – Edge 500 actually uses a barometric altimeter which is a lot more accurate compared to GPS data alone.

Of course the Garmin Edge 500 has wireless sync capabilities via the ANT+, and can also work with speed/cadence sensors. Provided you have a Garmin heart rate monitor, it can even give you very precise calorie consumption data.
Garmin Edge 500 will cost $250 by itself. If you decide to go for the heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor bundle expect to pay an extra $100.
We hope your workouts last less than 18 hours. That’s how long the battery will last.
