Nice Little Netbook

Review Date: October 31, 2009

Purchased this netbook from Amazon Monday evening and received it on Thursday; fast shipping Amazon. This is a super netbook for $299.99. Color is matte blue and white which shows no fingerprints. Actually like the color better than I thought I would. Build quality is solid as you would expect from Samsung. Screen is matte not glossy which I also like. Very little bloatware to remove. I bought this for my wife who travels and has to give powerpoint presentations. Needless to say she loves this little thing. It will certainly make her travel easier, as this netbook is so small and light(2.8 Lbs). It is a simple netbook; doesn't come with all the bells and whistles, like bluetooth, 1.3 camera, etc. The wifi card found my AT&T Uverse device quickly, so I was on the internet immediately. Battery life is as advertised; it took me about 6 hours to run it down from initial full charge. Wife likes the touchpad, too; I use the usb mouse. If you want a solid, simple netbook with middle of the road battery life, you will like this little gem.
Out of the box, fully charge the battery(light on left front edge of netbook will go from orange to green when fully charged). Next boot up and it will lead you quickly through windows XP installation. Then configure it with programs like you want it. Then enjoy. It is a great product and a steal at this price.

Love this netbook. Had to return the first one I got because it had a sound problem. Don't like the white interior as much as my original slate blue one but overall its great. Much faster after I removed McAffee and installed AVG free. Now I need an external optical drive.
Great Netbook

Reviewer: D. Depagnier,
I spent a couple of weeks researching netbooks and trying them out in stores. My search narrowed it down to this one or the N140. I chose the N130 because it was a hundred bucks cheaper. The N140 however has longer battery life and would have been a good choice as well. High on my list was a nonreflective screen which most netbooks don't have, non finger print finish, and good battery life. The N130 has a nice keyboard and decent battery life of about 5 hours. I installed 2 gigs of ram immediately and removed most of the Samsung bloatware. Everything runs quickly (Word, Excel, OneNote, web browsing, YouTube movies, etc). Mine came with XP home which I like because it needs less overhead than 7, consumes less power, and doesn't have the want to be upgraded like 7 Starter does. I'll bet it runs faster too, because it's plenty fast with XP and another reviewer said it was slow with 7. I use it a lot with Remote Desktop to get email from my main home computer, which works quite well. Wireless web browsing is fast and convenient by the way. This little computer is the cat's meow.
Great buy for the price

Samsung did a good job with this netbook. The pros include; lightweight, clear LCD disply with good resolution, XP preloaded, comfortable keyboard with stain resistant keys, decent battery life. Cons include; horrible onboard speakers, no optical drive (as with all netbooks)Overall a sturdy built computer from a reliable company. It has been dropped from about three feet up onto carpet a couple times and still works great.
good design, excellent ability, wonderful computer!!!

My husband gave me this as a Christmast gift. As all people know, Samsung computer is very good in many ways. This is very beautiful blue colored laptop. This is small so it fits to my bag. Internet and all the other programs are working so well. I really like it. It is just perfect for me.
