***AWESOME!***

Don't let the previous review scare you. Yes, the battery protrudes, but it provides a convenient support for the keyboard. I always use the "feet" on my keyboard to give me a more favorable typing angle, and that's exactly what the placement of the battery does. As for the battery being "heavy", this is a light-weight (<2.9 lbs) netbook; if you've been lugging around a 5-7 lb laptop, it's a dream. I looked at every netbook on the market, and this one had all the features that pushed my buttons. I am totally sat-is-fied. If I just could have gotten it for the price it's being offered for now, I'd have no regrets.
Great netbook and a great price!

I love this netbook. It does exactly what it promises. And is great for the purpose intended. It wont replace your desktop or more powerful laptop. It is a perfect compliment to your household network! My teen loves it and I'm going to get 2 more for the rest of us.
Wonderful product!

I wanted to purchase a laptop but wasn't sure what I wanted. I bought this item a month ago because the price was a great deal for a quality and name brand product and the reviews seemed pretty decent. So far, I am extremely happy with everything about this netbook. It is a nice size and I don't mind the battery, which sticks out a bit, but not in a bad way. It actually works well sitting on a desktop, kind of tilts at an angle and is easy for me to type. The keyboard is very comfortable to use (I believe I read it's about 93% of normal keyboard). The one thing I did not get with the product was a user manual, but I was able to download one (.pdf format). The only reason I wanted it was because I wasn't sure what some of the symbols on the keys were (ie: the F keys). At first when I tried to set up to wireless internet, I had issues (it could have been a password issue on my end - I'm not sure...) just happy it works now! I love being able to sit and browse online or to bring it to class to take notes. It does not have a CD drive, so I had to purchase one in order to download MS Office products (Word/Excel/Access). I am able to use them all with no problem. It has three USB ports, so I can use a flash drive to save and transfer documents easily. I also downloaded music cds and can listen to music. I think the battery is supposed to be about 6 hrs (?) but not sure. I used it for a 2 1/2 hour class and it only used about half of battery life. I would recommend this product for someone who wants a nice, affordable, quality netbook that is powerful, portable and fun. So far, I love it and am very happy with my purchase!
Great for a second computer

I've only had my Mini for one day so far, but have found it to be one slick machine. We bought it to take with us on trips to keep up to date on emails and follow the market, etc. It is going to be perfect for that. For heavy use I will still use my desk top. Battery pack is not a problem. Don't let that keep you from buying one. The Mini does take a while to set up. The directions could be a little more clear and the operating system required extensive updating but that is covered in the instruction booklet and not a big problem...just takes some time.
I could have waited for the 7 to come out, but at this price and since this is the system I have been using for years, why wait. Somebody said it was heavy...I don't think less than 3 lbs should be a problem for most people. After some practice I now no longer reach for the mouse and am getting used to the slightly smaller key board and the mouse pad. It just takes a little practice. Overall the coumpeter is well made, very solid, keyboard has a nice touch, in general a well made machine. Not like some of those I looked at while shopping at the local computer mega-store. So, so far so good. Hope I feel the same after 6 months.

Question on Service Providers for the Mobile Broadband

To those who have purchased this item, what do you have to pay monthly to the service provider for the broadband "go anyway" service (WWAN)? Any drawbacks? Is international use possible?

Many thanks!
